About
Mark began his professional life as a journalist writing for the Evening Standard, Guardian, Sunday Telegraph and Daily Express.
His debut play Clarion, set in the newsroom of a dying middle market tabloid, was produced at the Arcola Theatre in 2015 to widespread acclaim.
Clarion was followed by The Double Act (2025), about a pair of estranged comedians in a decaying seaside resort.
As well as issues of politics and national identity, Mark’s theatre work draws on an attraction to the grotesque, the tragicomic and the hauntological. He is currently developing new plays for the stage including The Fortress In The Sea, Father’s Day and The London Moralist.
